Ireland has an ancient history that holds a sense of mystery that you can feel to this day. The area where we will spend our time is especially rich in historic sites as well as contemporary culture and scenic wonder. Join me as a creative life coach, writing teacher and lover of Ireland and a small group of travelers on a journey in the West of Ireland, the edge of the ancient Celtic world where Irish (Gaelic) is still spoken as the everyday language.

ireland-dolmenFind magic, music, and a deep peace in this landscape of stark beauty and rich culture. Spend time with a local guide. Step out of time into this elemental world where you can slow down and open to receive the wisdom, insights and experiences that come on an intentional journey. Experience the lively life and Celtic music of the pubs.

The trip is as a soulful journey where we open to the great hospitality of the Irish and the gifts of Ireland and have a chance to reflect on our life from a fresh perspective and bring an enlivened sense of self home. It is intended to provide a more personal and intimate experience of Ireland than one finds on a typical tour. I’ll share myths, poetry and history to deepen your experience of the island and the people The trips are limited to six people and offer you an experience of the “real” Ireland. We ride the local buses, ferries and walk the land to give you a real feel for the place.

Whether you are interested in coaching or writing along the way, we will work with keeping a journal to deepen our connection to ourselves, the place and our own awareness. I will be available for individual guidance as well as sharing my love for the land, people, culture and history. We will support and celebrate each others journey and while also enjoying time for individual exploration.

We base the entire time in Doolin, County Clare, one of my favorite places in all of Ireland. It’s a village renowned for carrying on the soul of traditional Celtic music, where some of Ireland’s finest musicians play in one of the four pubs every evening. It is centrally located for day trips to different areas that give you a full taste of Ireland. You will have time to wander on your own to slip into a pub or cafe to meet locals.

Doolin Inn, our home for the ten days has very comfortable private rooms with their own bathroom (double occupancy). The Inn, run by a Anthony and Deirdre Moloney, a lovely couple who in true Irish fashion makes you feel right at home, is a wonderful place to meet other travelers including people of all ages from around the world. It’s received top marks from Trip Advisor and Lonely Planet Ireland.

ireland-aran-islands I look forward to sharing my knowledge of off the beaten path places and my sense of the ancient mystery the place itself holds. On daily excursions, including some time walking the land with a local guide, we will visit amazing scenic and historic world heritage sites including The Burren. This amazing landscape, where May brings a wealth of wildflowers with plants from the Arctic mixing with those those from the Mediterranean, is rich in a wide array of archeological and historic sites.

We will spend a day Galway City and an afternoon in the historic town of Ennis. We’ll ferry to the Inis Mor the largest of the Aran Islands where we will explore Dun Aonghasa the most famous of the prehistoric forts on the edge of a 300 foot cliff above the sea. We will also visit Inis Oirr the smallest of the three Aran Island where the wealth of stone walls will astound. We will visit the famed the Cliffs of Moher and Saint Brigit’s holy well. I will also take you off the beaten path to explore little known ancient sites.
